Role Overview
We are seeking a Systems Engineer / Integration Specialist to lead the seamless deployment and synchronization of complex cybersecurity technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring that disparate software and hardware components function as a unified, secure system. This role requires a blend of high-level systems thinking and hands-on technical expertise to build resilient infrastructures that meet rigorous federal security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Integration: Design and execute the integration of cybersecurity tools (SIEM, EDR, Identity Management) into existing federal and commercial enterprise architectures.
- Engineering Design: Develop system specifications and architectural diagrams for secure, high-availability environments, ensuring all components align with mission objectives.
- Automation & Orchestration: Implement automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline deployment and reduce manual configuration errors.
- Testing & Validation: Lead system-level testing, including interoperability, performance, and security validation, to ensure all integrated solutions meet contractual and regulatory standards.
- Security Compliance: Apply STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and ensure all integrated systems are hardened according to NIST 800-53 and RMF standards.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the full systems engineering lifecycle (SELC), from initial requirement gathering and hardware/software selection to decommissioning.
- Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive system design documents, installation guides, and operational manuals for both technical teams and client stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a specific focus on integrating complex IT/Cybersecurity solutions.
- Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II required (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+).
- Professional certifications such as INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, MCSE, VCP, or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware, Nutanix) and cloud integration (AWS, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of API integrations, middleware, and database connectivity.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain or maintain an active Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship: Required for this position.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DevSecOps pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) or specialized government communications hardware.
- Previous experience working with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) or Department of Defense (DoD).
