Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, and maintain the robust technical foundations that support our cybersecurity operations. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our clients’ network and server environments. You will work closely with our security engineering team to build resilient systems that meet strict federal security standards (NIST, FedRAMP).
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage physical and virtual server environments (Windows/Linux) and storage solutions.
- Network Engineering: Configure and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and routers, ensuring zero-trust principles are applied.
- Cloud Operations: Administer and optimize cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with a focus on high availability and secure configuration.
- Security Hardening: Implement system hardening based on STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and NIST 800-53 controls to ensure compliance.
- Monitoring & Support: Proactively monitor infrastructure health, performance, and security logs; resolve Tier 3 technical issues and lead disaster recovery planning.
- Automation: Utilize scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate routine maintenance and deployment tasks.
- Collaboration: Support the Cybersecurity team in deploying security tools (EDR, SIEM, Vulnerability Scanners) across the enterprise infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or network engineering, preferably within a government or highly regulated environment.
- Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security).
- Professional certifications such as MCSE, CCNP, VCP, or AWS/Azure Architect are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), Active Directory/GPO, and secure networking protocols.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship: Required for this position.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience supporting a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
